Our Doctors and Practitioners
Dr. Camille Azar
Dr. Camille Azar has served St. Mary-Corwin as a Gastroenterologist since 2005 and has proved to be an asset to the medical team and Southern Colorado communities. He is board-certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and has been a practicing physician for over 20 years. Dr. Azar actively participates in the Connected Care telehealth initiative at St. Mary-Corwin.
A Lebanese native, Dr. Azar received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of St. Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983. He completed an Internal Medical residency in New York at Long Island College Hospital in 1991; a Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Toronto in Canada in 1993; and a Fellowship in Therapeutic Endoscopy at Erasme Hospital in Belgium in 1995.
After this extensive training, Dr. Azar began his medical practice at Sacre-Coeur Hospital in Beirut as an attending physician in the Gastroenterology division.
In addition, Dr. Azar's residency included training in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and he served at Chief Resident in Anatomical Pathology. He has also contributed his expertise to numerous presentations and publications.
Dr. Azar is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the Lebanese Medical Association
Dr. Steve Boynton
Dr. Steve Boynton was born an Air Force brat in Portland Oregon, his father also served in the Navy during Vietnam.
Dr. Boynton graduated from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1995, he is board certified in Family Practice. He also holds a M.B.A from the University of North Texas. He began at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center in 2012 providing care in both of the Family Clinics and the hospital. He serves as Medical Director at the Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center.
Dr. Boynton has been married to his wife Karen for 34 years. They have two children, two grandchildren, and a labradoddle named Bhric (celtic for spotted). Dr Boynton is a twin but born on a different day than his brother (before midnight and after midnight).
Dr. Boynton enjoys to travel, hike, kayak, sail, read, collect coins, and watch Texas Tech sports
Dr. Donald J Dutton
Dr. Donald J Dutton a Colorado native who grew up in La Junta and obtained his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He worked many other jobs prior to becoming a physician including construction, teaching high school math, machining, and eventually clinical lab science which led him to medicine.
Dr. Dutton worked at Spanish Peaks Hospital as a lab technologist for many years prior to medical school. He attended medical school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Aurora, CO. His time spent in Walsenburg not only exposed him to rural family medicine but ultimately drew him back to this community to practice.
He obtained his board certification in Family Medicine at the Saint Joseph Hospital Family Medicine program in downtown Denver Colorado. He spends most of his free time with his wife and daughter, riding motorcycles on the street and in the dirt, and working on his home.
Dr. Tony Feliz
Dr. Tony Feliz, MD is a Urology specialist.
He is from Urology of Pueblo.

Dr. Tony Feliz, MD - Urologist is trained to diagnose, treat and manage diseases of the urinary tract and male reproductive system, including prostatitis, kidney stones and urinary tract infections.
Dr. David Feuer
Dr. David Feuer is a vascular surgeon and endovascular interventionalist with more than fifteen years of experience. He attended medical school at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, New York, prior to completing both his residency and fellowship training at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
His family legacy seems to be excelling in prestigious occupations, his father and grandfather both worked for the United States Navy. Dr. Feuer has pursued research, teaching, and administrative roles throughout his career in addition to his medical practice. He's now passing along those values of hard work to his four children, three of which are triplets.
Dr. Richard Gamuac
Dr. Gamuac is a neurology specialist. He is out of Parkview Neurology in Pueblo

Dr. Richard Gamuac is board certified in Neurology with special qualifications in Child Neurology. After completing his education from the University of the Philippines, Dr. Gamuac completed a Comprehensive Epilepsy Management Fellowship at NYU Medical Center. He also received additional training in pediatrics at the New York Methodist Hospital and a Pediatric Neurology Fellowship at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, NY.
Dr. Gamuac is one of the few neurologists in Southern Colorado specially trained to manage deep brain stimulation in essential tremor and Parkinson’s patients, and provide vagal nerve stimulation for control and treatment of seizures and epilepsy.

Dr. James Lee
Dr. James Lee is from The Colorado Eye Institute out of Colorado Springs Clinic.

James Lee, M.D., practices comprehensive ophthalmology. He specializes in customized cataract surgery, LASIK, KAMRA Inlay, keratoconus, cornea, and external diseases of the eye. He also performs the most advanced types of corneal transplants including DSEK, DMEK, and laser assisted procedures.
Dr. Lee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University and a Medical Doctorate at University of Illinois. He completed his internship in internal medicine at Loyola University in Chicago followed by an ophthalmology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Lee completed a fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the University of Arizona.
Dr. Lee has published on topics including LASIK and infections of the eye. While in college he was published in a major scientific journal as a primary author for his work in molecular biology. Dr. Lee held an associate professor position while at University of Arizona. He is currently involved in studies for treating keratoconus as well as perfecting new techniques for performing corneal transplants.
Dr. Lee has taught surgeons in Mexico on small incision cataract surgery and is working on plans to help provide eye care to third world countries. Dr. Lee desires for a second career as a food critic and keeps a diary of culinary experiences when traveling.
Dr. Lee is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Lee is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Lori obtained a BS in Biology from the University of New Mexico in 1984 then went on to graduate from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 1989. She is board certified in Family Medicine and holds the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor in the department of Family Medicine for the University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine. Dr. Lori mentors Medical Students for the University. Dr. Lori has been with Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center since 1996. She works in all of the hospital settings to include the Family Clinics Walsenburg and La Veta, the Outreach Clinic, the hospital, and the Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center. She is the Medical Director of the Family Clinic-La Veta.
Dr. Lori has been married to Dr. Michael Moll for 32 years and they have three children, one of which has followed in her love for medicine and is currently attending medical school. When not in the office Dr. Lori enjoys biking, snowshoeing, skiing, and walking their dogs. She volunteers on the board for the La Veta School Foundation. Dr. Lori especially loves to provide care for women's health, pediatrics, and geriatrics.
Dr. Michael Moll
Dr. Moll is originally from Albuquerque, NM where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology "with distinction" at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He then, along with his wife, Dr. Lori, attended the UNM School of Medicine where they both received their MD degrees in 1989. Dr. Mike Moll was also inducted into the prestigious medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. After obtaining his MD degree, Dr. Mike trained in Family Medicine at the UNM Family Medicine Department and was Board Certified in Family Medicine in 1995. Dr. Mike and Lori Moll came to Walsenburg in 1996 and began a Family Medicine Clinic. In addition to maintaining a Family Medicine clinic they also provided coverage for the Emergency Room, hospital and attended to patients at the Colorado State Veteran's Nursing Home. Both Dr. Mike and Dr. Lori have been serving the residents of Huerfano County for over 20 years and currently work at the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center, Spanish Peaks Family Clinic, La Veta Clinic, and the Outreach Clinic.
During his time here, Dr. Mike has held many titles including Medical Director of the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home. He currently holds the titles of Medical Director of Spanish Peaks Family Clinic, Chief of Staff of the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center (SPRHC) and Chief Medical Officer of the SPRHC.
- In addition to being Board Certified in Family Medicine, he was awarded a Fellowship of the American Academy of Family Medicine.
- He is an experienced Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine for the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine and has been awarded the "Walking Stick Award" by the Family Medicine Department for exceptional teaching of medical students.
- Dr. Mike was recently appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper to the Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Dr. Mike has worked side by side with his wife Dr. Lori Moll for over 20 years. They have 3 children: Sarah, Emily, and Max
- Dr. Mike enjoys playing golf, skiing and fishing and says that while he loved New Mexico, he feels much at home in Colorado and expresses his gratitude to the citizens of Huerfano County for allowing him the privilege of being their doctor.

Dr. Mark Porter
Dr. Porter is an Orthopedic Specialist. He is from Parkview Orthopedics in Pueblo.

Dr. Mark Porter, a 16 year U.S. military veteran, came to Pueblo after his most recent station at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, CO. Dr. Porter began his military career in the Coast Guard before pursuing his undergraduate degree at U.C. Davis and his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Porter completed his residency in the Orthopedic Surgery Program at William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Texas Tech University in El Paso, TX.
Dr. Porter is board certified and provides a wide range of orthopedic care, including total joint replacement, fracture/trauma care, and sports injuries.
Dr. Donald Primer
Dr. Donald Primer began with the Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center in May of 2016. He provides care in the hospital, Family Clinic, and the Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center. He has been a hospitalist for thirteen years in a Southern Colorado hospital.
Dr. Primer graduated from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1990 and is board certified in Family Medicine. He also holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from Texas State University. Dr. Primer is a proud veteran of the US Navy. He has been married to his wife Kathy for 20 years, they have two Italian Mastiffs.
Dr. Primer enjoys reading history.

Dr. Chuck Ruzkowski
Dr. Chuck Ruzkowski attended Chicago Medical School, Loyola University Medical Center, and the University of Arizona. He has held academic appointments at the University of Arizona and the University of Iowa. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and has over 15 years of endoscocpic and practice experience.
Dr. Ruzkowki specializes in colon cancer screening, liver disease, and all gastrointestinal disorders, including reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and Celiac Sprue, and provides a wide variety of invasive and non-invasive treatments.

Dr. Salazar, born and raised in Alamosa, is excited to return to Southern Colorado. She is a general otolaryngologist and treats the full spectrum of ear, nose and throat problems in both children and adults. Her clinical interests include ear disease and dizziness, thyroid and parathyriod disorders, allergic rhinitis, endoscopic sinus surgery, head and neck tumors, and obstructive sleep apnea.
Dr. Salazar was a recipient of the prestigous Boettcher Scholarship. She completed her undergraduate studies at Colorado College in Colorado Springs where she graduated cum laude in 2004. She went on to receive her medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society her senior year. She completed residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. As a senior she was elected administrative chief resident. She is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.

Alan Garcia, Physician Assistant
Alan Garcia PA is an Orthopedic Specialist. He is from Parkview Orthopedics in Pueblo.
He attended PA school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and has been working as a PA for 17+ years now. (10 of the 17 years were spent working as a PA in the Army and then the past 7 as a civilian.)
He's always worked in orthopedics throughout his career, so he has a significant amount of experience and depth of knowledge in diagnosing and treating ortho patients.
Candace Ferguson, Nurse Practitioner
Candace completed her BS degree in Nursing with a minor in Anthropology and History from the University of Wisconsin. She completed her graduate studies for her Nurse Practitioner Degree at Metropolitan State University of Denver and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Candace has been a Nurse Practitioner for over twenty years working in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Migrant Health Care and Infectious Diseases at Emory University, working with the Centers for Disease Control in the early care and treatment of HIV patients. She has recently completed the Medical Incident Commander program through the Army and is a Certified Medical Authority. She is currently mentoring nurse practitioner students, physician assistant students and medical students in Women's Health Care.
Candace has been married to her husband for twenty five years and they have one son. In her free time she and her family enjoy all of the outdoor activities that Colorado offers; skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and biking. She has been a volunteer with the Disabled Ski Programs and the volunteer ski patrol. She also enjoys visiting all the historic sites in southern Colorado and reads extensively about the history of the area. The Outreach Clinic has given her the opportunity to offer, not only women, but children a wide variety of health care services in a warm, caring and safe environment.
Jerriann Vigil, Physician Assistant
Jerriann started her medical career as a registered nurse in 1983. She spent thirteen years working locally and in several other southern Colorado hospitals including the two larger medical centers in Pueblo Colorado. She has a wide range of experience in both pre-hospital and hospital care. She also held a management position as DON in Long term care.
She graduated as a Physician Assistant from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, January 1996. Her work experience has been primarily in adult medicine, having spent six years in a Pulmonary/Internal Medicine Practice, the following six years in a General Medicine Practice and four years part time in Correctional Care serving adult men and women as well as juvenile offenders.
She joined the Spanish Peaks Family Clinic practice May 8, 2008. Jerriann is a Walsenburg native, she has one son who is a freshman in college, her hobbies include camping, hiking, crafts and home remodel projects. She participates in community events and has served on a local City Government board in the past.
Karen Campbell, Nurse Practitioner
Karen completed her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1997. She had been an ICU/CCU nurse for 20 years before going back to graduate school.
Her experience includes practicing in both rural and urban settings caring for newborns through geriatrics.
Karen is primarily in our La Veta clinic, but does also rotate to our Walsenburg Clinic and veterans home.
Karen has been married to her husband Tom for 15 years. They have eight children, twenty-six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. In her down time Karen loves to golf, read, and play the piano.
Regina Griego, Nurse Practitioner
Regina graduated from Colorado State University with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2009. She is certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her medical career began at age 15 as a CNA at our local hospital then named, Huerfano County Medical Center.
Regina was a CNA for 10 years before entering the nursing program. Because of Regina's commitment to caring for others she continues to work as a nurse in our emergency room. In 2016 Regina was awarded the prestigious Nightingale Award, founded in 1985 the Nightingale Award honors nurses who embody the philosophy and practice of Florence Nightingale, a 19th century nursing pioneer who epitomized the art of helping people toward their optimal health.
Regina has been married to her high school sweetheart Eric for 22 years, they have two children. She volunteers with the local 4-H group, La Veta High School Booster Club, and is the LVHS Cheerleading coach. She enjoys riding her horse Cimmaron, photography, long walks, and reading mystery and romance novels.
Susan Walker, Nurse Practitioner
Susan is a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner; Board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing from Regis University in 2004. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner Susan had been a nurse for 28 years primarily caring for adults with cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases.
Susan provides care in both our Walsenburg and our La Veta clinic. Her areas of interest include Women's Health and Lifestyle Management of chronic diseases.
Susan and her husband have been married for 38 years. She has one son, two step-daughters, and 3 grandchildren. On her down time Susan enjoys hiking, singing, spending time with family, and travel. Susan grew up on a farm in western Nebraska and moved to Colorado after college. She and her husband raised their family in metro Denver area, and moved to Spanish Peaks region in 2015.
